Cascade Ridge developer wants city to establish metro district, an article from the Loveland Daily Reporter-Herald, reports that a developer trying to donate money to education in Loveland is having a harder time than expected. The developer is asking the city to set up a metro district to fund improvements and to donate some of the revenue to the Thompson Education Foundation. As planned, Cascade Ridge will cover 223 acres north of 29th Street and west of Wilson Avenue. Over the next 6 years, the developer plans to build 451 homes, including houses and condominiums. If the metro district is approved, Cascade Ridge could donate revenue from 2.5 mills to the education foundation and 2.5 mills to the city's Parks and Recreation Department. http://www.reporterherald.com/Top-Story.asp?ID=12228

Take comfort: Local real estate market under control, an article from The Coloradoan, reports that locally, there was a 7.6% increase in August sales and a 2.2% increase in average selling price. In addition, there is now a year-to-date increase of 2.7% in closed home sales and an average price increase of 2.1%.
