Palisade is Blossoming.

Palisade is bursting out all over. I am so happy to see green globe willows and cherry blossoms and especially the Peach blossoms! The Grand Valley is an agri-cultural area. We have producing wineries, peach, cherry, apricot, pear and apple orchards. We also have a University, Jr. College, Symphony, Art Center, live theater, museums, good music and drop dead scenery. Grand Junction, Colorado is a relatively inexpensive place to live to boot. I live in Palisade the arty section of the valley. We have seen economic growth in our town bucking the national trend. Real Estate Prices have held faily well. We now have a first class hotel the Wine Country Inn, several very good restaurants (The Red Rose, Inari's and the Palisade Cafe), a popular coffee shop (Mumsels), a cute gift/antique/record store( and a lavender store(The Lavender Lady). We also have two art galleries (The Blue Pig and the Twisted Brick) and many artist's studios throughout our town. The Wine Fest, Peach Fest, and Roots Music Festival are also a big draw to our town. Our Sunday Farmers Market draws people from all over to buy and enjoy the Fruits and Vegetables of our local farmer. Not only do we grow produce we have a distillery, a dispensary and a brewery. One of our featured residents is the Town Grouch. As is says on our grocery store we have 2700 people and One Town Grouch. I ran myself one year. It was fun. I decided it was not a good PR to have the owner broker of EB Realty when Googled to come up as the Town Grouch. I donated all my votes (money) to the competition. It was fun to go around town tapping people on the shoulder and say in a “Grouchy Voice” GEMME MONEY. I thought I had found a new career. We are getting a General Dollar Store. The Dollar store will not be like a typical box store. The foresight in the Comprehension Plan for smart growth has placed tight architectural control on the look of the building. It will not look like a box store. The store will provide us with a variety of merchandise not available presently. A healthy viable economy needs traffic. The Dollar General should generate traffic helping our town's economic health. Come for a visit to Palisade and witness all kinds of blossoming.
