The local markets are trying to hold their own in defiance of the national media attention given to the doom and gloom of the housing markets. Although the volume of sales are down sompared to a year ago, the inventory has also declined. And although the average length of time to sell a home now is generally longer than a year ago, in many areas the median and average sales prices have either held steady or increased.

Once again, this data goes to show that Real Estate Markets are local, and that is true within a geographic market area from City to City, or even between neighborhoods. Always be sure to thoroughly analyze the market data in the specific areas of interest to you......regardless of whether you are planning to Buy or Sell a home!
