Rye Colorado: Photo By Dena Stevens
Colorado has suffered though some dry years with little to no snow or rain. Often people from out of the area will comment about how they thought the "Rocky Mountains" should be green. Well, the Front Range is basically prarie and it's dry. But this year we have been fortunate to be getting some moisture, and it shows!
This picture was taken May 11, 2009 in Rye Colorado. Look at the Greenhorn Mountains, they don't grow 'em like that in Connecticut!

Dena, I hope the rain keeps on coming and that every thing stays green like that.
Love to see the green grass again, Dena - Good shot!
Now that looks like a little bit of breathing room.... Is it near any paved running trails? :-)
Rye is one of the few areas of Pueblo County that gets very green. It's really in the foothills. Great little town population 200-400 depending on the season. The roads are unpaved and most drive slowly around as to know scare off critters or bother children.
Sorry Dan you'll have to run on dirt.
Dena - That is a lovely shot. A lack of rain can certainly alter a view. I hope you will have sufficient rain this year.
Hmmm... So here I am looking at your beautiful picture of Rye... I spent my first 3 years in Beulah. Beautiful country and espeically when it's green!
