Elmers House in Rye Colorado

Let me introduce you to Elmer. Elmer has spent his entire life in Rye, one of the prettest parts of Colorado. Elmers life started out as a Rye telephone truck. Today Elmer lives on a faboulous ranch with fanastic views.

Life hasn't always been an easy one for Elmer. Rye winters can be hard. When the snow comes it comes in feet.

Elmers favorite parking spot is the furthest from the house but any of the four garages are comfy.

This is the view from Elmers garage of the main house. Nice View HUH!

Colorado has suffered though some dry years with little to no snow or rain. Often people from out of the area will comment about how they thought the "Rocky Mountains" should be green. Well, the Front Range is basically prarie and it's dry.

Dena, I really like those old trucks, they just to have their own special charter.

Dena - what a clever post, adn a neat truck. You just don;t see many of these classics around anymore.

I assume you are going to RE Bar Camp Denver - have a fabulous time.

Jeff

I admit, I'm jealous of Elmer. This is a great property. As I walked around this day another woman found a set of antlers. So of course I had to go look as well - didn't find any.

Jeff, I am really looking forward to going to REBar Camp!

I see that Elmer is wearing his winter shoes.  I can't remember when I've seen chains on tires around here.  My dad had them for his car when I was little.....he actually got to use them a couple of times!

Dena, Great post. Iove Elmer!

I was going to ask if you learned how to write this blog post at REbar camp, because you absolutely captured my attention, then I saw that you wrote it BEFORE camp, so GREAT JOB!  =o)  So nice to meet you yesterday, IRL, (as I learned at camp!)!

Cheryl, you are a delight! I'm so happy I got to meet you and so many others in person. It was the "personal" touch that I appreciated the most about Bar Camp.
