Here is a Clue: Miss Scarlet Did It With a Leaf in the Beech Tree
Okay, so this is not a murder mystery but a bird mystery! You never know what you might see flying around my yard from wood ducks to hummingbirds to a hawk with ruffled feathers to the doves they so love to feast upon. This weekend a new resident moved in, just after our first spring sighting of our hummingbirds. This one was a new one for us, but we guessed immediately what it was--just had to confirm with the Sibley's Guide. A Scarlet Tanager!
Of course we had to immediately text my brother-in-law who lives less than a mile away "Saw a Tanager today!" And got the reply message, "You certainly see more interesting birds than we!" You are never too old for sibling rivalry!
Wonder what bird sighting tomorrow will bring?
