Donna, Nice information for consumers and a great history lesson.. I like the pictures .

Donna very nice job spot lighting Guilford. Looks like a very quaint New England town!

Gita - Guilford CT is a very historic town and full of wonderful things to do and places to see.

Bill - It''s just what you would think picture for a New England town and so full of history.

Donna,

Those New England small towns have a lot of charm, which I sometimes miss here. We used to get into a car with our fiends and drive aimlessly from one such town to another, stopping at sales, talking to people, and then  stopping at some local favorite eating place.

You woke up the memories

Donna, very nice history lesson on Guilford.  I love seafood, so I am going to take your word that The Stone House is a great place to eat and stop in there in the near future.

Jon - You can always come back you know....I've got a few good places we could go eat at! :)

George - I love seafood too and either The Stone House or Guilford Mooring are two great places for some of the best seafood lunches and dinners I've ever had and best of all you can't beat the views. :)

Donna, I didn't know Guildford was the second oldest town in CT.  My car broke down there once on a trip from Rhode Island back home...I only had one day there while it was being repaired.  I wish I had known then about all these lovely sights!

Carole - I have to admit my error on that.....I read that somewhere  before I wrote this post late last night and now cannot find where I referenced it.  I just did a little more research and found out that it iappears that the town of Wethersfield that is the 2nd oldest town in Connecticut and not Guilford.

Next time you're traveling through we'll have to get together and check out a few of these great sights.

We lived there for about 8 months a number of years ago and thoroughly enjoyed it, and try to get back out there when we can (go to the green, hit Bishop's Orchards, and their fair is one of our favorites!).

Paul - I love visiting the Guilford Green especially during the spring & summer, enjoyed many an apple pie from Bishop's Orchards and always look forward to the Guilford Fair.  It's definitely one of my favorites too!

Donna -

I stumbled up the Guilford Mooring last summer. What a beautiful area. I had never been I'm ashamed to say. I have a historic home listing site and normally pride myself on being familiar with all things Connecticut. Great post - now that the weather is cooperating, I will have to head down there!
