Sure, we can all do this! The current issues that we are now facing with our economy, have made all of us take a second look at our budgets, our finances and our goals.
Here's a few for you to think about or use. Please feel free to add yours in the comments!
Car Insurance - Increase your deductable. Shop around for a better policy. By changing from my insurance broker to another I saved over $1200, every six months.
Homeowners - Same thing, check around. They will monitor your credit score, so be sure to check on that, too.
Electronics in your home - This is so easy that I can't believe I hadn't done this earlier. Unplug everything that you can. Tv's, computers, printers, phone chargers, lamps, etc. Appliances that don't need to be on. If you have them included on a power strip, you only need to shut off the power strip. My last month's electric bill dropped by $28.50.
Dining Out - Yes, most of us are eating our meals at home now. In our business, we are taking out clients and having once a week business bites. Here's my idea. Dine lightly. I have a salad and a glass of water. Not only good for the budget, but, good for my well being.
Landscape Designs - You can now rent the equipment that is used by professionals if you are handy enough! Locally, in Connecticut, Arnold's Rentals, LLC, 860-289-Rent, offers this awesome service. Not handy? That's okay, Birch Mountain Earthworks, LLC is out there working strong and hard. Reputable, Insured, Licensed and Professional. Years of continued, full time production. Call them today for a free estimate on improving your outdoor living space. They're the best! 860-289-1656 Serving Connecticut & parts of Massachusetts!
Business Mixer - Host this at one of your vendors. Offer light refreshments that you can pick up at Sam's Club. Right now, businesses will welcome the opportunity to gather and share information with eachother.
Business Seminar - I learned that by taking the light train in Baltimore, Maryland, that it cost me $1.60 for the transportation from the Conference location to the airport. The shuttle bus one way, was $18.00.
Buffini Turning Point in Boston - I just got this tip, just this morning! There is a bus company that will pick you up locally, in Connecticut, and bring you to Boston, one way, $15.00! That's a two and one half hour drive for us, plus, you would have to pay for parking! There are ways to attend these free events at a very minimal cost.
Make a List When Shopping - Did you know that most millionaires, never go shopping without a list? Be sure to make a list of what you really need to buy, before you go shopping and then, bring it with you and stick to it!
I look forward to hearing about the tips and information that you may have to share here, that work better for you in this economy! We can all use more good stuff!
It's a Good Life!
