Quick Updates For A Bathroom: Treat It Like A Room
The two full baths in this Fairfield County, CT, condo were in great shape, but a little outdated. The budget did not allow for new fixtures, vanities, or counters. What to do? The least expensive remedy is paint, of course. So yes, wallpaper in one of the baths was removed and both baths were painted out.
Nestings Home Staging gave the oak vanities a treatment that's as easy as paint. They were ebonized, using a Minwax polyurethane product that has stain in it. This product is wonderful; it allows the rich wood grain to show through, while giving the cabinets a great update. We also added some inexpensive knobs for the bling of "jewelry".
What else can be done to update a bath? Treat it like any other room in the house: add accessories, art, and luxurious touches that carry the themes from the rest of the house.
First Bath:

The colors in the bath towels, artwork, and faux orchid coordinate with the second bedroom, which has access to this main bathroom.
Ensuite Master Bath:

Thank goodness that wallpaper is gone! The faux cheetah rug is soft underfoot, and adds that unexpected touch of luxurious texture. Nature-inspired artwork, another grand potted orchid, and fluffy hwite towels make this a relaxing space.
Make it fresh and clean, streamlined, and decorated like a room. After all, the bathrooms are for sale, just like the rest of the house!
