I teach the real estate pre-licensing class in Hartford, CT area. Today we were reviewing interests in real estate including government powers like PETE...Police power, Eminent domain, Taxation and Escheat.
It amazes me how so many people own homes but do not necessarily know the kinds of limitations the government can put on their ownership rights. I say this because maybe some times I take our knowledge for granted. It is important for us as professional, licensed real estate agents to share our knowledge with buyers. They should know what to look out for and be encouraged to be involved in their local government to understand what is changing or being proposed in their community.
Do not take your knowledge and value for granted when working with people in real estate. Constantly share it with them. Contribute to their success.
