Positive Economic News Today

The New York Times report some very Positive Economic News Today in regards to the economy and the housing market. Good news seems to be something that we have not had much of lately, so I felt the need to pass it along.

  • Frist, the Stock Market bounced back from Wednesday’s loses with the Dow gaining 136 points yesterday.

  • Second, the four week average for unemployment claims dropped to a 3 ½ year low. This is a good indication that hiring maybe picking up.

  • Third, home purchases in November were up more than 7 percent. This is the highest gain in more than a year.

This news is encouraging especially the possibility that jobs might be on their way up again. More jobs means more confident buyers, and more confident buyers means more house sales.

The lack of jobs have been the biggest reason in my opinion for the housing and economic slump that we have been in. So if companies begin to hire, then everything else will start to return to where they should be.
