On this beautiful weekend in Connecticut, I was out delivering my spring popbys. I purchased thirty two individually packaged, plant containers, filled with ruffled pansies. I walked by them at Lowe's, while I was there purchasing a new measuring tool for my listings. I thought they looked colorful and happy. They came in a variety of colors. Each little tub held about five plantings. The label claims that they are a hardy annual plant. I made my little popby tag that reads, Just like spring flowers, I love spring referrals! Please remember, I am never too busy for your referrals~
Sounds like fun? It is:) I get to stop in and see my favorite folks, but I don't stay long. You must keep going to get them all done in a timely fashion. Just stay enough to say ~ hello, how are things going with you? It gives me a chance to touch base with my clients, friends and family who refer their friends to me. This month, the pansies were a hit. Now, the pressure is on for next month. Let's see, May. Hmmm! Got it! Mother's Day! All kinds of ideas are popping into my head. Now it will just be, which idea to use:)
Hope that all of you enjoyed this beautiful weekend. At least, here in Connecticut, we were fortunate enough to have two nice, sunny, weekend days. Kids were on vacation from school, so it was welcomed by them. Back to school tomorrow for the kiddies and back to work for us:) Yes, I did some of my popbys, showed a few homes, but, it was such fun that it didn't seem like work. How fortunate to be in this profession!

Hi Fran,
beautiful weekend here too, (see the pics I posted today), even though we had a little rain. Glad to know spring is coming your way--how is that referral going?
Jill
Do you do popbys every month? I do mailings but maybe I should add popbys as well.
Frances that is an excellent way to stay in touch with your past Buyers, and a great way to keep something in front of them that will remind them of you every time they look at it.
Fran-what a great idea and what a perfect time of year for fresh flowers!
Fran...neat idea, may have to steal that from you.
Fran- I might use your idea next month. I bought a case of CFL Light bulbs to give this month for Earth Day. I just wrote a blog post about it- just before I read your post.
Please remember, I am never too busy for your Cape Cod referrals!
This sounds like loads of fun... who doesn't like flowers?
Great idea! Last year we handed out garden hand shovels with some flower seeds. Within a few days of handing those out we were signing a listing at a home where the son was digging in his playground with one of the shovels. Simple ideas to keep you in front of your clients.
I like the spring ideas and the florecent light bulbs that one of the commenters mentioned as well. Hope you get loads of spring referrals.
Jill, We have activity, no bite yet:) It will go and soon. Folks are real nice and good to communicate with. Did you see it on my V-Flyer scroll on the blog?

I love dropping off flowers on mothers door steps on mothers day and doing it before they get up, that way when they leave they get a big surprise.
great idea. everyone loves flowers. I give out seeds but I think this is a betteer idea. Thanks for sharing.
That's a great pop-by Fran. I might just have to stop at Lowe's!
Nancy, No kidding! They offer good products for our popbys! Face to face, when you meet these folks, you need a good product. Doesn't have to be very expensive, just a good product.

Frances- Good idea. Spring Flowers bring Summer business! Low cost high impact pop by!
Great!
Best,
Scott
I think spring time pop by's are the 2nd most important pop by of the year right behind christmas. you know business usually gets busier in the summer and you will be even more on the forefronts of their minds. I like the idea of the flowers, at the dollar general (one of the best places to buy pop-bys)they have packages of flower seeds for 25 cent a piece. I bought 4 packages a couple of weeks ago and have a bed full of flowers poping up now. I may have to remember that for next year.
If you are looking for more ideas, here goes one I have been doing for 2 years now and have had a lot of success with them. I have been getting BBQ sauce. It can range from less than a dollar to 4-5$ a piece. if you really got the good stuff. Most everyone likes to grill out and it seems to be a hit.
I was so tempted to put on the label "When you put it on the bird, remember I love to be reffered" I think I picked that quote up at the turning point.
I guess I chickened out, I just said "happy spring" on it.
Happy Spring Everyone!
Jay, You are too funny! I love the idea, I will have to use it with the referral dialog about the bird! C'Mon, be brave, try it this year!

Fran,
I like the idea as well. When I have a buyer close on a home I give then an oak, maple or Palmetto tree that I have grown from a sapling along with a letter explain how I buy trees from the Arbor Day Foundation and the benefits to trees etc. They all love it and really appreciate it. So for pop-bys I bring kits for that are designed for there tree. Works every time.
Mike,
That is awesome! I saw seedlings at Lowe's when I picked up my pansies;) It's nice to add a living tree to someone's yard. Thanks for stopping in and adding the good idea!

Our team's pop-bys for Green Month are "environmentally friendly" canvas shopping bags with our team name tastefully silk screened. We purchased them in bulk at Christmas time and used them as gift bags with Mike's homemade pumpkin bread inside for our VIP's. We figured many of the stores are selling reuseable shopping bags these days, so we could jump on board and give them away! Debbie Wilmers
Mike & Debbie,
This idea is awesome, too! Something the consumer is very aware of in today's world. Is there a website for this product? With all these good ideas for popbys, I'll be a hit with my Coach!
Fran, I believe I ordered the bags from Branders.com. I have ordered other personalized items from them before and they have been great to work with. ~Debbie
Thanks so much! Mind if I borrow your popby idea?
Fran, you are more than welcome to use the personalized shopping bag idea. I think they ended up costing around $5 each. There might be places that make cheaper ones, but we didn't want them to look so cheezy no one would use them. I personally use them! Keep a few in your car and use them for your own shopping bags! ~ Debbie
Thanks so much! Good value on those bags! I will check out the site:) I am working on my widget for my Business Referral Directory, it's a techy day.
I just read about the canvas bags and I agree that would be a great idea! I am mailing seeds for Daisy's this month. I try to do pop by's every other month and mail something of value the following month. With the cost of gas and time restraints it helps me to do it every other month.
Frances,
The popbys are a great way to get that personal one on one.....and the added thoughtful gift makes the stop memorable.
Dan, I learned, after one year of belonging to Brian Buffini, that his systems work. After all, he had used them to his own successes! It did take me time to grasp it, though.:)
Michelle, Good for you. Getting out and being proactive will pay for your gas, easily! If you keep them in your car, you can make stops while you are already in the area! Sound like a plan? I love the notes:) People call me when they get them from me. It works out, saves me from calling them!!!
Our systems work:)

Hi Fran!
Any great tag line ideas for a last minute Memorial Day popby? I've picked up a few pansies myself and some red, white & blue ribbon. If I get going here, I can probably get 10 or so of these out before the weekend! But I'm struggling with a cute little card idea to attach. Any ideas??
(P.S. -- I'm never too busy for any of your referrals!)
How about, Thank you for your referrals, I am just blooming red, white & blue with gratitude on this holiday weekend!
Fran,
Thta is a greta idea! I will have to get motivated to do the same.
I have to think that you received a couple of referrals from your efforts! Not many people take the time to do things like that anymore.
