Last Thursday, four of us went to a fund-raiser for The Center for Women and Families of Eastern Fairfield County - www.cwfefc.org. It was hysterical! The idea was to wear an old prom or bridesmaid dress, and for $30.00, have some cocktails and nosh at a local restaurant, then walk a red carpet to a movie theater next door and see the cute movie, "27 Dresses" (armed with more wine!).
The best part? The whole idea was generated by three women over some wine after seeing the movie a short time ago. This event raised $5000!!!
The second best part? The name tags, which dated and described the dress. Mine simply said "Nothing Fits Anymore!"
I have been busy lining up decorators for the annual Fairfield Christmas Tree Festival, which also will benefit the CWF. It's a seasonal showhouse event, and I am Decorating Chair. I've actually recruited our own Stephanie Stuber! Look for more info to come! The FCTF is my give-back - what's yours?
Enjoy the RES (sorry, there are no good pictures...)
