"All Good Things" Come From Staging

Connecticut is now home to "Hollywood East"; due to beneficial tax arrangements, many more movies are now being shot here than ever before. Remember the car chase around the college in the most recent Indiana Jones movie? That was shot at Yale University in New Haven. I could go on and on...from urban cityscapes to suburban homes to dreamy countrysides and rural lanes...it's all available right here!

"All Good Things", starring Kirsten Dunst and Ryan Gosling is currently being shot in the area. I just learned that THREE SCENES WERE SHOT IN THE MODEL CONDO UNIT I STAGED LAST FALL!!! This was the SeaView Village model, located in Bridgeport, CT. The builder just told me that the location scouts loved what I'd done, and only had to change out the artwork - apparently you need the artist's OK to have their work hang on the wall in a movie.

Wonder what art they found to replace this "seaview window"?

"I'm ready for my close-up, Mr. DeMille!"

Nestings provides high-quality, value-added home staging for occupied, vacant and model homes in Fairfield County and Connecticut.

Julia ~ That is fantastic! I wonder if you will get a credit for it. Have you thought about how you might be able to market that?

All ideas are welcome! There's a local consortium that wants to develop some movie studios in Stratford to take advantage of the "Hollywood East" tax opportunities. When that gets going, I'll look into set design - why not? Cindy in CA has done staging for some HGTV programs, I think - that sleep-over "try it before you buy it" program. So we know people are looking to Stagers to fill a variety of needs.

The movie comes out in January - I could do a press release closer to that date when the buzz starts! I'm still thinking...Thanks, Kathy! Julie

how cool are these movies! They're all over fairfield and black rock... I just sold curtains to 2 different movie set designers...cant remember which movies they are...but it'll be cool to see the curtains hanging in the movies!

Julia- That is SO cool! I will have to be sure to catch that film when it comes out! What's next for you? Movie set design?

Aloha Julia,

What fun, congratulations! Too bad about the art work I think its Fab! I think Kirsten would look marvelous sitting on th sofa, acting.

Peace,

Thanks, all! In my previous life, when I was part owner of a large antiques gallery, I did sell a lot of things to set designers - like a pair of chairs for "The Producers" (they went into Roger - the "Director's" townhouse - too much fun!). Oh well - if I did do set design, they'd all look like Dorothy Draper did them - LOL! Julie

How COOL is THAT!!!! Wait a minute...if they need the OK to hang art from the artist, don't they need to gve YOU the credit as the "Set Designer"? You have a new credit to add to your title! ;-)
