Candlelight House Tour in Shelton CT December 2-3, 2011

The halls will be decked with boughs of holly and much more at the annual Candlelight House Tour in Shelton CT December 2-3, 2011 sponsored by the Huntington United Methodist Church.

A popular event that has attracted hundreds of guests through the years, one church and 6 homes will be featured and festooned in sparkling holiday fashion inside and out.

Ticket holders will follow a map of 5 homes in Shelton, 1 home in Trumbull, as well as the Trumbull Congregational Church on a self-guided tour. You may be asked to remove your shoes by the homeowners, so be prepared with easy-off shoes or bring shoe covers or a pair of slippers.

How do you get your map of houses on the candlelight tour? Simply stop in at any of these locations. Tickets are $15 per person and may be used across the two days.


Huntington United Methodist Church, Walnut Tree Hill Road (9-noon)*
Huntington Rental (White Hills Shopping Plaza)
Jones Family Farms
Marks of Design
Past & Presents Shop (Trumbull)
Warner’s Hair Design

*Tickets may also be purchased on Friday and Saturday during tour times at the church.


Once you have your ticket, you can stop at the decorated houses in any order of preference on these days and times.

Friday, December 2 5:30 – 10 p.m.
Saturday, December 3 3:30 – 7:30 p.m.

When in Trumbull, the consignment shop next to the Trumbull Congregation Church will be open for visitors.

In Shelton, don’t forget to stop in at the Huntington United Methodist Church and visit their gift boutique and try some delectable cupcakes and other treats.

When you are done, you will be totally primed and ready for the holidays after seeing all the magnificent decorations and feeling the spirit in and around each participating home. ‘Tis the season to be jolly! Enjoy!
