The Trumbull, CT, school system has long enjoyed an excellent reputation. We have nine nieces and nephews who have benefited from the education and opportunities afforded them in this wonderful, family-oriented town in Fairfield County.

It's hard to believe that the Back-to-School sales have already begun. School buses are patrolling the streets, as drivers practice their routes. Our good friends and neighbors, Jackie and David, are both teachers. They're spending time getting lesson plans and classrooms ready for the new year. All this, and not a leaf has fallen and the temps are in the 80s.

BUT SCHOOL STARTS ON TUESDAY, AUGUST 31, 2011! The Trumbull, CT, school calendar also notes that June 13 is the planned last day of school. Yes, we're talking SNOW DAYS - especially after last winter!

"Snow days, up to a maximum of 7, will be added to the end of the school year. If needed, one additional instructional day will be recovered on the April 9 PD day, which will be a legal day. Teachers will then attend one more day in June.

Any snow days beyond 8 will be recovered during April vacation, beginning with April 20, 2012. Trimester report card/distribution dates may change in relation to snow days."
