Backpack Give Back Campaign for Area Children/Trumbull, CT: School Supply Lists

Sometimes, I think it's all about the backpack. Sporty, pretty, or trendy, it's one more item the child can select that reflects their personality. My heart breaks, however, when I see these kids staggering home, under overstuffed packs bursting with homework. Someday, I'm sure, everything will be done online, with ebooks and tablets.

However, we live in the present, which requires backpacks. But DON'T get one that's too large! Check your school's supply list. Most will tell you how large the lockers are, so you can be sure the pack will fit!

Not every family can afford the necessary school supplies. Here's how you can help:

Local radio station, WICC 600, and the St. Vincent's Medical Center, are sponsoring the Backpack Giveback Campaign.

"Many children lack the school supplies needed to attend school prepared each day and many schools suffer from an inability to offer such school supplies.

We would like to help our area children start the upcoming school year with confidence and the supplies they need through our Backpack Giveback campaign. With the help of individuals and organizations, we will distribute thousands of backpacks throughout Southern Connecticut to those children in need."

As you're putting together your school supply shopping lists, please set aside a portion of your budget to contribute to the Backpack Giveback Campaign.
