Gåva is a beautiful store in the center of town. Patti and Jim Damon have filled the store with gorgeous gifts from all over the world, but in particular, from Scandinavia. The store is located at 72 Old Ridgefield Road, and their phone number is 203-210-5776. The email is info@gava.us.

Patti and Jim moved from Texas to Wilton in 2002, and opened their shop in 2006. My mother was born in Norway, and always wanted to go in and speak Norwegian with the owners. I think she went in once and tried. I'm not sure that Jim or Patti know the language, but they must have had fun conversing about all of the fabulous things from Scandinavia in Gåva !

Every year around the beginning of May, I go into Gåva to re-acquaint and ask for a contribution to the Relay for Life Survivors' Dinner Giveaway - and every year they donate a whole bag of beautiful things. It is a wonderful opportunity to stop in twice to catch up and have a nice visit - once to remind them it's that time again, and the next time to pick up all of the fabulous gifts they donate. Each time I try to allocate at least a full half hour, so we can visit a little... They are so extremely generous!

Sometimes, if I am not busy, I will pop my head into Gåva just to say " hi," and admire all of the beautiful things they have there.
