This morning's Biznow breakfast at BLT on Eye St (great popovers, guys!) provided lots of great interaction with social network and social media leaders including those from Higher Logic, Globalstrat, TriNet, Social Fish and others:
Top Tips:
1. If you create a private social network, think of it as hosting a dinner party... you need the host to be actively involved in keeping the dialog running.... You can't just set it up and walk away. Have a plan!
2. Quality vs.Quantity - speaks for itself.
3. Content is King- find something buzz-worthy to post and chat about.
4. Keep it a two way converstation. Build capacity to listen and respond.
5. Transparency! Don't ignore negative postings - respond! Better yet, encourage membership to police themselves.
6. Have people refer their friends/colleagues to your site if it would be relevant to them.
7. Find more followers. Try tools like Google alerts to see where your potential members are now!
It was such fun. Lots of good face-to-face networking- there is just no substitute for that! Cheers!
