DC REAL ESTATE GUARANTY FUND - RAIDED AGAIN!

The DC REAL ESTATE GUARANTY FUND - is planned on being raided again in Mayor Fenty's proposal to take more money from the fund in the fiscal years 2010 and 2011.

• This fund is established to protect consumers who have had problems with real estate transactions.
  
• The Mayor is reportedly taking the funds for the general budget.
  
• The real estate licensees are being assessed $50.00 because the fund has a short fall.
• The Washington DC Association of REALTORS have filed a lawsuit for using the fund to cover a budget "shortfall" against both the District of Columbia and the DC Real Estate Board.

According to GCAAR (Greater Capital Area Association of REALTORS) "The District of Columbia Courts have again postponed their decision".
