window on a crescent city

so you take an old window, you know, the kind folks put on the curb when they get those brand new, high insulation windows. and you take it to the studio and scape off the loose paint and remove the rusty stuff. and then you use windex and clean up the glass. then you paint on the back side in reverse fashion. of course you have to paint what will appear on the other side so you must be real careful and after you scrape two or three tries off the damn thing...well you end up with something like this.

and sometimes....well...you just have to put a piece of yourself out there.

That's a beautiful example of your work. Thanks for sharing a way cool idea!

Very cool, John.  You are a talented artist!  Thank you for sharing.

Reverse painting on old windows is actually one of my wife's favorite pastimes.

John,

That's very cool.  Painting in reverse has to be a difficult task.  I'm impressed.

I am always finding ways to recycle some items into art pieces, but that one had not occurred to me. Thank you.

John, thanks for sharing some of your art and baring some of your soul.  Lovely.

I've taken old windows and turned them into mosaic glass art.  Yours takes a lot more talent!

thank you J Mac :)  ((((HUGS))))

Very nice John. A wonderful way to recycle an old window. That would look good in my office(hint!).
