6th Annual Boardwalk Buddy Walk a Huge Success!

The 6th Annual Rehoboth Beach Boardwalk Buddy Walk was the most successful to date, with 1,500 walking the Boards to raise over $63,000 for down syndrome support and awareness programs. The Grand Total includes funds raised through Dining for Downs events held throughout the year in local restaurants, the Buddy Up Party and Silent Auction held Friday evening of the Buddy Weekend, as well as the Walk itself.
The Rehoboth BWBW is a model for Buddy Walks across the nation. This flagship event is unique in that it is held right in the heart of town, rather than in a park, at a school track or someplace "removed" from community life, thus allowing this year's 72 down syndrome self advocates to educate and enlighten all of downtown Rehoboth by their involvement. Dennis and Sharonlee Diehl have done a tremendous job of involving the whole community in this festive, important weekend.
