The Delaware Center for Horticulture has been making good things happen in Delaware communities for more than 34 years.
The DCH installed more than 1,300 trees across Delaware this year. That's a lot of trees! In New Castle, a group of 40 enthusiastic volunteers dug in for the last big planting of the fall season. Residents in Seaford and Wilmington got new trees this year, too. And Delaware City, stay tuned -- the DCH will be planting in your community next spring. If you want trees in your town, let the DCH know! http://www.thedch.org/
Everyone likes fresh fruits and vegetables right? Absolutely! That's why the DCH co-hosted a regional gathering of farmers, educators, and decision makers to talk about solving access to fresh, healthy, local food. They now have a better understanding of how to get fresh produce into more communities. Wouldn't it be great if children in Delaware's public schools could eat locally grown vegetables in their cafeterias? Together we can make that happen! Contact the DCH to volunteer or contribute.
