Davie Homes

Davie Real Estate was founded by a group of settlers composed of workers from the Panama Canal Zone. The original name of the town was Zona because of this. Randolph P. Davie Real Estate, a developer, bought about 27,000 acres (109 km2) in the area and the town name was changed to “Davie Real Estate.” It was carved out of Everglades land that was mostly under water. The early history of the town was dominated by drainage issues, some of which persist today.

Davie Real Estate has always had a reputation as a “Western” town. It boasts a significant horse-owning population and once was home to many herds of cattle. In recent years, commercial and residential development has discouraged such practices but Davie Real Estate still tries to maintain a “Western” feel. Pioneer City, a western theme park, was located across the street from Flamingo Gardens. It was built in the 1960s and closed a few years later.

Now Davie Real Estate is still has maintained it home style feeling. With Mixed communities for beginning families to custom homes.
