A Little History of Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS

The history of the Daytona Beach Area Association of REALTORS can be traced back as far a 1922.

It was in 1922 the Daytona Beach area received its charter from the national and state governing bodies.

With less than 20 members they struggled on the same issues that we face today.

Attracting industry, yes we need commerce desperately, promoting tourism..

Yes we still are known for the World's Most Famous Beach and the most important issue then and still remains..

To improve the quality of life for our residents. Although we have our trials and tribulations right now..

I can't imagine or even fathom how REALTORS worked in the 20's.

Its a good thing I am a REALTOR today!

Times were challenging back then:

  • In 1923 began the registration of brokers and salespeople.
  • The Swamp Land Rush began at that time..in 1925
  • At the peak of the land boom more than 70 percent of area business people were engaged in the real estate business.
  • The Daytona Beach Area Assocation of REALTORS hired a detective to investigate complaints of unethical practices.
  • The Depression brought an end to the land boom
  • In 1937 a six party REALTOR committee was formed to promote tourism
  • In the 50's REALTORS were active in attracting a variety of businesses.
  • In the 60's REALTORS lobbied for roads

These are just a few notables of what REALTORS have done and what we continue to do today.

Fighting tax issues, helping seller's to keep their homes.

Throughout time REALTORS have always offered a true service to the public and in most instances REALTORS are extremely generous people..

As a REALTOR many of us are active in wide variety of ways.

From fundraising, to coaching a baseball team to speaking to young adults preparing for the business world.

Our mission has always been dedicated to the economic and social development of the Daytona Beach area and we have your best interest at heart.

Looking to buy or sell real estate in the Daytona Beach area, why not use the valued services of a REALTOR...

It would be my pleasure!
