Honeymoon Island - Paradise in Pinellas - it wasn't always that way. In 1880 it was called Hog Island because (you guessed it) there was a hog farm out on the island!

Today there are beautiful indigenous plants, like these sea grapes, growing on the island. The park is also home to nesting sea birds and sea turtles, both of which are protected by the park service!

With a gorgeous winding coastline, Honeymoon Island is one of the most beautiful places to experience Florida at it's best! With over 200 varieties of native plants (including mangroves, slash pines, salt marshes and sea grass beds) and nesting sites along the nature trails for Ospreys, you will be glad that you visited this tropical paradise!

There is also a separate pet beach where you and your pet can enjoy the surf together! Not many beaches offer this!!!
