Fleming Island Florida, My Keys Held Hostage, and It's Very Cold-------

Where to begin? Let's start with this house in Fleming Island.....You need to be sitting, and the picture is at the bottom, don't forget to scroll back up! This home.....I toured this home today, so I would know how to sell it. Bottom line? At a mere $389,000 with 3619 square feet, $50.00 HOA, and CDD's of $1685.10 annually THIS IS A STEAL! Refer a buyer to me---please! I really want to sell this one this week:-) Further, it's seller owned, not a short sale, not a foreclosure, and is really, really nice! Good stuff my friends! And if you know anyone coming toward the greater Jacksonville area this is a great house for them-----

Next topic. My keys were held hostage today. Surprisingly they were still in my car! Locked in. I do this maybe once every 6-weeks or so. The last time was in a not so great area of town and I offered the Pop-a-Lock guy a bonus for getting there quickly (like NOW!)--he did--I was down some cash. It was completely worth it. This time, however, I was at McDonalds in a mall type place, waiting for a buyer. My phone was on RED (how did that not get plugged to charge?). She didn't know where we were meeting as she calls after work to catch up on the day and the priority was.......the contract! Yes, I called my husband: honey...locked keys...Town Center McDonalds....no time...love ya....by! Called back: send HELP! Then she called and my phone died as she said: I know right where you are!.......<dead phone>

The very nice workers, one in particular, enlisted 2 others and they tried to break into my car. Really. Stop laughing! So, dead cell phone, wallet, and contract with pen in hand I stood in the cold weather while they SWORE they could get into the care in under 2 minutes...(they didn't). At the end of it all, the more mature in the group realized she and I were 'transacting' and asked for my card. Retired and widowed Vet--needs a home. We'll meet on Monday. All because those stupid keys. And yes, this time I'll get a copy or something and hide it away!

Saved for the end! It is really cold here in Florida. Cold enough that our wheelbarrow had formed the rain from the other day to ice. It's cold. My 5-year old would not wear his jacket. We have no place to put our jackets. They came out of storage, and we just sort of drop them on a couch--because THEY HAVE NO PLACE in the house where they belong! Crazy nuts----and the animal shelters are begging for towels and blankets to keep the animals warm. And our homeless are getting ill, and there is not enough room anywhere. We are just not set up for this kind of cold. At all! It's the kind of cold that makes you want to move to a warm place, like Florida. I recently (last night) asked my husband if by chance we were not South enough? He was not amused! I told him, as we bought at the peak, that we might qualify for the HAP program and could move South---SO not amused:-) (do NOT mess with my house woman! The kids thought that was funny---) But as I go into foreclosures today with a couple buyers I wonder...are they as cold as I? Would they consider paying a little more for a seller owned with the heat on?

Nope. After all, it's just another day in the life of a Realtor! And I did put that jacket on the kids (and myself). And my keys got me here to tell the tale. And that house still needs to sell---so check out these pics!

God bless---and good night!
