What Fleming Island Florida and the New York Times have in common

Yes---as I reach into the abyss of what to blog on it occurred to me that I have been reading about real estate in the New York Times. And that it actually applies to my little corner of the world, Fleming Island Florida!

On page 8 of last Sunday's Nation section there is a 'blurb' about the Home Buyer's Guide coming to the NYTimes on January 22. Now, not residing in New York, but rather in Orange Park where Fleming Island is located I am sure you wonder how this pertains to us in Florida.

Well, home buying is home buying. First time home buyers, who this is for, are a unique group. You need to educate, evaluate, and then lead to the right conclusions. All without offending, offering too little, or too much. In my mind I am glad that this will have huge write up in the Metro section and I am excited to have that Friday come around. After all, I do believe the local Starbucks carries this paper. It is where I get it on Sunday morning as I drive through for my morning coffee---

So, what will they be educating on? The basics: tax credit, finding the right agent (for Fleming Island that would be ME), how to uncover the best opportunities (um, how about FHA 3.5% financing). This is promising to help consumers make the most of this unique era in time--this rare opportunity.

I am looking forward to seeing how I can use the information to benefit those looking to purchase in my area. And, I am hoping to find the same type of section in our own city paper (dedicated to real estate, that is). I would like to take advantage of the tips and leverage the information for our area. Fleming Island is unique, so the buyer seeking great homes in a great area, along with the unique, should pay attention! I sure will be, and I am hoping you will be too----
