The Fort Myers Beach Annual Sand Sculpting Festival 2010 is right around the corner, coming November 10-14. This popular event is in its 24th year and draws over 50,000 spectators, which is quite a few folks, for sure!
The official name for this event is 2010 American SandSculpting Championship & Beach Festival.
There are two categories of artists. The Amateurs will be competing at the South end closest to the Gull Wing Hotel and the Masters will be competing at the North end closest to the Holiday Inn. This year there will be sixteen top Masters in the competition.
In case you are not familiar with these two resorts, they are located mid-island, a couple of miles south of Times Square on Fort Myers Beach.
The Annual Sand Sculpting Festival is free to spectators, with the option of purchasing a special VIP pass to be able to see the artists 'up close and personal'. Here is how it works:
VIP Passes will be available during the event at the Fort Myers Beach Chamber tent for the following prices:
Individual $5
Children/Senior Citizens $3
Family $10
All weekend access (Fri-Sun) $20
You don't have to purchase one of these passes to enjoy the event; it's an option for those who want to get a closer look at the sculptures.
Of course you'll be hungry and need something to eat while admiring the artists at work, so there will be a food court and dining area set up nearby. You don't have to leave the Sand Sculpting Festival at all!
And, the Beach Trolley will be actively picking up and dropping off for the event as well. Transportation Made Easy!
