5th Annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival

Ahoy, Mates! The 5th Annual Fort Myers Beach Pirate Festival is almost here, and it promises to be a boatload of fun for the entire family! Friday, October 8th thru Sunday, October 10th are the dates, so mark your calendars and plan to join in the festivities.

The entire downtown area of Old San Carlos Blvd on Fort Myers Beach will be transformed into Tortuga (Tortuga is an island in the Caribbean; it was one of the last free ports and a safe haven for piracy.) for the weekend, with ‘pirates’ roaming the streets, vendors selling their wares, food and fun for everyone!

All events are kid-safe and family friendly, including a pirate’s ball, cannon demonstration, pirate cruise, kids treasure hunt, live music, children’s costume contest and much more!

You might want to take a pirate cruise offered by one of the event’s sponsors, Salty Sam’s Marina. Or, stop in for some authentic sea-fare at the Smokin’ Oyster Brewery, another sponsor of the Fort Myers Beach Annual Pirate Festival. Participating motels, restaurants and bars will piratically adorn their businesses to complement the atmosphere of Tortuga.

Plan to enjoy good food and drink, art, craft, and merchandise vendors, choreographed pirates fights, pirate invasions, ship-to-shore battles, treasure hunts and costume contests for young and old, and a living history pirate encampment with period correct styled vendors.
