Gulfport is located at the southern end of Pinellas County. The city faces Boca Ciega Bay which leads to the Gulf of Mexico, which is why is also know as Gateway to the Gulf. It has a population around 13,000 residents with just under 4 miles of area. Gulfport has a large number of artist living in the city. Every first Friday of the month the city has an "Art Walk" in the evening. The craft and art stores also stay open to support the evening. Refreshments are also available. The city also has a free trolley that runs throughout the city and stops at clubs, restaurants and other points of interest.
