On Wednesday, the county commissioners voted 3-2 against a developer's request to pay no impact fees.
The impact fees will affect the developers of a new shopping center near Haines City. The developers strongly believe that the shopping center should not pay any road impact fees and should receive credit for road improvements that they did in the area which runs from Holly Hill Road to U.S. 27.
County officials however, pointed out that the purpose of those new roads were for access to the shopping center rather than as an improvement to the community.
What's the bottom line, developers should pay more than $263 in road impact fees.
