UPDATE

As of June 29, 2010 Webb's Superstore is now closed.

I spoke to Shannon who was the manager and they closed down on June 29, 2010. Evidently they were not able to get supplies since the manufacturers were selling products overseas at full price. The owners were unable to compete with that.

I shopped there regularly too and was very sad to see them closing up. When I went they cut prices down to 50% off everything except the DVDs then on the last Saturday in June they had a special for $10 a cart. It's very sad. I am still in shock. I have been working on a follow up to this post because of the recent closing.

Please note that Aldi will be opening soon in Port Richey, Florida near the theaters. I shop at the Aldi in Clearwater Florida off of U.S. Highway 19 and they have great prices too.I've done a bit of research and it looks like they are set to open sometime in September 2010. I have also read that they plan to open another Aldi location in Holiday, Florida near the intersection of U.S. 19 and Alternate 19. I will keep readers posted since I like to save money on my groceries too! :)

Last time I went to the Aldi in Clearwater (which is a bit north of Sunset Point Road on the west side of U.S. 19) which was a few days ago a dozen of eggs was 79 cents, a gallon of milk was $2.69, and a pound of strawberries was $1.49. Their BBQ sauce was $1.19 which is not too bad. They have great quality chocolate bars for $1.19 to $1.69 or so.

In the meantime... see you at Aldi. I shop there more now that Webb's has closed.
