World Sailfish Championship in Key West, April 12-16

No guppies here – this is fishing for the big boys! It's rough and tough, with action that makes bass tournaments look like a cakewalk. And with over $175,000 in prize money awarded last year (proceeds benefiting local charities), it’s a win for everyone!

The tournament gets rolling with registration at Mallory Square on Tuesday April 12, and a Caterpillar Kickoff Party at 7:15 Tuesday night. It will be a meet-and-greet for this year’s participants.

Wednesday at 7:00am, the action starts, with lines out of the water at 3:30pm. And Wednesday night at Mallory Square is the start of the “fish stories!” On Thursday (Day 2), fishing is on the same schedule, but ends with The Coach's Party (with Silent & Live Charity Auction) in Mallory Square. Friday is Lay Day, and Saturday is the final day to land the trophy of your dreams (or see it done)! It will be the same schedule – starting again at 7:00am, and ending with the 2011 World Sailfish Championship Awards Banquet (Credentials Required). It’s no secret that the Florida Keys are a serious angler’s paradise. If you are tired of fishing those muddy bottom northern rivers and lakes, and want to go where the fish are biting – 365 days out of the year, call me when you are here for the Sailfish Championship. We’ll find a property where you can enjoy crystal clear waters, great weather, and trophy fish every day of the year. Come on – leave the guppies for people with aquariums!
