I don't know if anyone else is bothered by the referral fees given on rental homes like I am. I came from the Ft Lauderdale area and rentals could help supplement income between sales because there was a 1/2 to 1/2 split between the rental listing agent and the agent bringing the renting person. Here in the Orlando Area, it is not the case. The rental listing agent may list the rental for $1000 and offer a referral fee of $75 and take $925 for themself when the unit is rented. With the price of gas what it is, it is not worth going to a showing several times and getting a little stippend for doing most of the work. It is not doing a home owner much of a service by having a home on the market for months on end and not getting it rented, because agents not showing it for of the low referral fee. Dan
