This colorful weaver is an institution at the Farmer's Market. I love to see him weave his famous palm frond hats. He looks a little scary in this picture, but he really is a very gentle man. He and his wife are here every Saturday to greet the locals buying their fresh produce, stone crabs and local crafts. He also carves totem poles out of coconut trunks. I once asked him if he could do a totem pole incorporating my Canadian "adopted roots" and my Florida roots into a totem pole. Wouldn't that be fun?
