New Port Richey, Florida Annual Phone Book Recycling Drive in July 2009

Pasco County tries to do its part in reducing waste. On July 9, 2009 a press release announced an opportunity to increase recycling for the month of July 2009. (In March 2009 they announced "Recycle Paper Products at Your School."

The RESORCE Recycling Club is spending the entire month of July on its annual Phone Book Drive.

The club has been holding a phonebook recycling drive for the past three years. With the help of numerous corporate partners who provided drop-off sites, last year's phonebook drive yielded 17 tons of old phonebooks to be recycled.

For the month of July 2009 you can drop off your old phone books at Accurate Waste Systems, 6141 Siesta Lane; and Stop-n-Play, 10933 U.S. 19, Port Richey. Both accept phonebooks during the July 2009. Stop-n-Play is even providing an incentive. They're offering two tokens for each phonebook brought in for recycling.

This year RESORCE is is encouraging residents to bring their old phonebooks to any of several Pasco County Schools to drop off in their Green Fiber Community Paper Recycling Program containers.

Schools throughout the county have Community Paper Recycling Program bins. In West Pasco, those schools include: Anclote, Calusa, Chasco, Cotee River, Cypress, Deer Park, Fox Hollow, Gulf Trace, Gulfside, Hudson, Mary Giella, Mittye P. Locke, Moon Lake, Northwest, Richey, Shady Hills, Sunray, and Trinity elementary schools; Bayonet Point, Chasco, Gulf, Hudson, Paul R. Smith, Seven Springs and River Ridge middle schools; Gulf, Hudson and Ridgewood high schools; Harry S. Schwettman Education Center; and Marchman Technical Educational Center.

Note that all of the locations are closed on Fridays for the month of July.
