Be a Lifesaver...Teach those little ones to swim!

Margie is our receptionist, a wonderful lady!  Margie is only a few years from retirement, she's had a happy and somewhat long life with plenty yet to live, but there's one thing she has never forgotten... The day, at the age of 11 while she was sitting with her other 3 sisters watching TV, her baby sister walked away without being noticed and slipped out into the pool area

She just wanted to have fun in the pool as she had done many times before, except this time there was nobody around to make sure of her safety and she had never been taught how to swim, after all she was only a toddler.  Enough said!

Yesterday my nephew who is 2 1/2 wanted to race across the pool with his 5 year old brother.  Both of them have taken swimming lessons, but of course the older guy, Cody can swim both on top of the water and under the water with periodic surfacing for air...that's what JP hasn't learned to do yet, swimming is a process and a development of skill.

Just the fact that JP can swim is an accomplishment in and of itself.  Long story short, they began the race across the pool, nearly half way across JP ran out of air.  He PANICKED! Thank God he was being watched by my sister who immediately jumped in the pool and rescued him.

Pool homes are a wonderful asset that enhances the desireability of a home and the ability to sell it.  When considering a pool home, always make sure that everyone knows how to swim!

Here in Ocala we have several places that teach the little ones and THE BIG ONES! (Adults) to swim.  It is truly a life saver and a blessing to know how to swim.
