Reversing a new development in July 2009 — when Regular House Sales actually exceeded Distressed House Sales (REO/Bank-Owned and Pre-Foreclosure/Short Sales) — Distressed Sales once again took the lead in houses sold during August 2009.
This would tend to indicate that either 1) downward pressure on prices will continue or, at the very least, 2) prevent home values from improving.
