Central Florida Real Estate Happenings -- 1.8 BILLION up for Grabs ??

Whatcha think...is this a basketball or what? Orlandos Arts Center will brighten the skyline... but will they pay for it? The Citrus Bowl upgraded for the 1st time in 18 years...will it happen?

Three issues that add up to over 1.8 BILLION dollars over 30 years (interest included) will be debated in Orlando today at 2PM.

  • Will the Orlando NBA Magic get a new stadium with only 50 million dollars invested into it, or will they have to come up with more money? Lots of people want them to come up with more money because of ticket prices and how much money the Devos family will be making from the deal.
  • Why does the Orlando Film and Arts Center HAVE to be included as part of any other deal? Maybe because it is the ONLY part of this that EVERYONE wants and it is a bargaining chip....kind of like blackmail....right?
  • Will the Citrus Bowl get a much needed makeover after 18 years because the University of Central Florida will have its own stadium this year? Why didn't they do this sooner? The stadium is not even up to NFL standards, so we will not have an NFL franchise any time soon in central Florida..... Tampa has the Buckaneers, Miami has the Dolphins, Jacksonville has the Jaguars....... why are we being left out in the cold -- and how long will this go on?

If all of these projects get under way they will not become a reality till 2010 - 2012

Interested parties want to know...stay tuned.......

I didn't realize this was still an issue. I think it's been about 3 years since I first heard grumblings about these topics. I guess our cities all have their own issues.

OH wow those are good questions.  I really want to know what happens to the Citrus Bowl.  When I start sending you referrals you are going to have to spring for some games.
