I read an interesting article today in regards to the TDC (Tourism Development Council) and spring break.
Once again, the TDC appears to be marketing to spring breakers. While others may not see the benefit to this tactic, I certainly do.
Other tourist oriented cities market the spring breakers constantly. During the spring break weeks, those cities (as Panama City Beach has in the past) experience significant increased revenue generated by the college students. This is a win win situation for the local economy as well as the real estate market.
Spring breakers eventually graduate from college, get jobs and want either to settle down somewhere or purchase a second home. Many them, having fond memories of spring break in Panama City Beach Florida, choose to return and purchase their homes here. Economically, it has advantages both short term and long term. Win win is what I say!
