We`re dealing with a client from Canada. We`re showing them condo`s in Century Village at Pembroke Pines.
They`re interested in purchasing a place for the winter.
They`re eager to find a condo 2bed.2ba condo for $40,000. There is only one problem they don`t exist at those prices.
We`ve shown them condo`s in the $80-90K range which fits their criteria but they keep insisting they have a friend who purchased a condo in Century Village for $40K...
The conversation is as follows:
Me: As much I we want to help you locate a condo. There aren`t any sellers willing to accept $40K for their unit.
Couple: Yes, but our friend continues to tell us they can purchase one.
Me: OK, can you get me the address of this condo so I may look it up?
Couple: humm, yess, but, but our friend is busy.
Me: I`ve shown you the comparables of condo`s in the area. The closed sales don`t lie..
Couple: I know but we won`t pay more than $40K. My friend said it`s possible.
Me: Possible? How so? Who are you going to believe?I have no reason to lie.
Couple: OK, Thank You. We`ll keep looking until we find one...
Me: They don`t exist! Would you like to look at other area`s?
Couple: Our friend said it can be done, than it can be done...
With that we parted as friends. I`m left scratching my head wondering where their so called friend is! My guess he`s the little person in their head that keeps whispering to them, that they can purchase something that doesn`t exist!
I wish them the very best in their quest!
