Below is a Google map showing where the city of Placida lies in unincorporated Charlotte County, Florida.
Placida has several residential neighborhoods and condominium complexes, a Publix grocery store, post office, bank, chinese and seafood restaurants, several marinas, fishing piers, art galleries and a private Tom Fazio designed golf course, Coral Creek Club.
Most of Placida is located on waterfront property on the mainland. We have great deep water boating channels... The location is very close to Stump Pass and Boca Grande Pass which allows quick boating access to the Gulf of Mexico...
This sleepy fishing town has seen a boom in condominium building and waterfront estates... Some of the best projects recently completed are The Anglers Club, Boca Vista Harbor, Coral Creek Cottages, Placida Bay Estates, Coral Cove, Placida Pointe, Hacienda del Mar, Cape Haze Resort & Cape Haze Windward...

There is no doubt that you live in a slice of paradise, Christine. As Sarasota gets more crowded and the water quality is not as good as it used to be, we sure enjoy getting down your way and seeing that gorgeous water. I hope you guys are seeing business improve there ... what a lovely, lovely town!
O.K. Christine, Here's a retarded question...is that like Lake Placid or is that another place? Yup, I asked, that's the first thing that came to my mind when I read your title!!
Thanks for sharing (& answering crazy questions!)
