If you're thinking of listing your house and would like to have a quick sale, these tips might be just what you need to do:
1. Trim bushes and trees that are close to or touching your house. Sometimes this means removing them. Nothing should block your windows or cut down on light.
2. Make sure your outside light fixtures are clean, bright and shiny. Make sure all bulbs are working. Replace bulbs and fixtures if needed.
3. Install new door hardware if yours is pitted, dull or nasty looking.
4. Plant colorful flowers near sidewalk and at entry.
5. Mulch all flower bed areas after removing weeds.
6. Make sure there are no children's toys, ornaments such as gnomes etc in your yard.
Remember, the buyers need to see the house as their house.
7. If the exterior of house needs painting, do it. And please choose a neutral tone!
8. Replace house numbers with new ones.
9. Make sure yard is mowed and trimmed at least weekly.
10. When house is scheduled to be shown, disappear ... go for a walk, get a coffee, do anything ... just don't be at home.
