Think it's a waste of your time to write a blog for the Local Business Challenge? Take a look and think again! I was on a roll from the previous Hyper Local 1000 points Challenge so when Bob announced the Local Business Challenge, I was psyched for it. When I was explaining what I was doing to Maryann at TeaLicious Tea she asked me "What's in it for you?"
Being the "altruistic' person that I am, I responded "Well I get to learn about a new business in the area and give back what has been given to me by trying to give you more exposure for your business." Really, I DID say that, or at least something like it. Maryann told me that they already show us #1 on Google for Delray Beach, but that I was welcome to write the blog and take pictures. I said, let's try to broaden your exposure to all of Palm Beach County!
And, when I returned to my "office" I contented myself with the knowledge that I'd met a new area friend . Aside from the exercise of blog writing and key words, hyper this and local that, I wondered just how actively I should pursue this challenge. 1000 points aside; meeting people within my community aside, I still needed to attend to business.
Well take a look at this:

TeaLicious got a #2 Google ranking via my ActiveRain Blog! They got the Palm Beach County Google presence, but so did I. Will it bring me business? Who knows, but hey I got my name out there.
Have you tried the Local Business Challenge?
