High Rise Opportunities, Colony Condominium Prices Unbelievable



Friends and family often look at me with a sympathetic expression, "How are you enduring this market?" This often surprises me, though it shouldn't. The national media interprets our economy through the same lens as they would say, Tupelo, Mississippi.

Ours is a tourist-driven economy, our number one industry. We have planned for and anticipated the surge of baby boomers who are becoming eligible now to effect their dream; now more than just vacation their sites set on a purchase of a second home in the 'sunbelt'. A pretty savvy group of researchers they know that Southwest Florida home prices, in some cases, having fallen 40%. A fabulous home selection combined with great interest rates, this persevering group has come to conclude that an opportunity, the total value proposition offered in a Southwest Florida real estate has never presented itself as it is today.

I am incredulous to hear myself quote the prices now available in the high rise homes I sell in The Colony Golf & Bay Club. A fantastic chance happening that these boomers, my peer group, who must have only dreamed they could actually own some of these homes formerly offered well over a million bucks.


I am not fond of the question, "So, have we hit bottom?" I think it's a trick question to gauge my sales skill-not my true opinion. I prefer to answer the question this way: it was nine years ago that prices were where they are today. Today, we have better building codes, custom finishes, a more practical floor plan (higher ceilings/more closets/bigger kitchens). At this moment you can buy something new or close to new, as previously stated, at a price point so low it defies comparison to any contemporary real estate market.


But when the day finally occurs when the media decides to publish the offerings we have here, there will be a significantly reduced selection of homes and pre-construction will once again be the only alternative. And we can't build it for the prices offered-way out of proportion. It's just that simple.

That's more than 10% of our Colony inventory. Jump in now when you have the best selection of homes at the best price. Why delay the enjoyment of the day on the bet that you may be able to save slightly between now and the day the national media reports that it was the time to purchase in Southwest Florida.
