One of the GREAT things about Being on a Real Estate Team

Many people are curious about the team concept and can't wrap their heads around the idea. People always ask "how does the team work and why are you on a team" The simple answer is "I am on a team because I want my customers to receive the very best service possible" As many people may or may not know being a Realtor is 24/7 and can feel like two full time jobs in one. One person cannot meet the needs of everyone. Especially when it comes to working with sellers and short sales. I realized very quickly that as a single agent working with short sales was going to be tough and rather than give up on buyers all together I decided to shift my focus to only working with buyers and refer my sellers to someone who could focus on their needs. A recent closing that I had makes it very clear how this works. I closed a buyer about a year ago that was getting settled into a new career, new relationship, and ultimately a new life. Several months later he had got married and his new wife needed to sell her home. Unfortunately when I called for my follow up I found out that they had listed the home with someone else, a friend of a friend. I ofcourse told them that if I could help them in the future to please let me know. And then a couple months later he dropped by the office. The more he spoke the more I realized that this was going to be a short sale situation and so I asked him to meet with our listing specialist. We listed the property and within a couple weeks I had a buyer on the property. Within 45-60 days we closed with a happy buyer and a relieved seller. The seller was able to get out from his home with approximately 6k out of pocket even though the deficit was over 30k. With a total of 6 properties set to close this same month there is no way that I could have negotiated the short sale by myself and got the same results. We truely can achieve more when we work together. That is the best thing about being on a team.
