Real Estate stats improve

Foreclosures down, building permits up

So reads the headline in this morning's The News-Press, a Lee County Fort Myers, FL focused daily newspaper.

There are likely many things that contribute to the decline. The nationwide bank scandal with regard to paperwork review prior to filing, lenders negotiating more loan modifications, and perhaps more short sales. Although the latter is not my experience.

Any way you look at it, it has got to be good news and maybe this is yet another sign of the market beginning to improve/recover.

I don't believe we will wake up one day with a pronouncement that the economy is better and the housing marker has recovered. Recovery is a process...slowly over time. Yet another sign...
