You just gotta love the "Who"

I confess

I am a "Baby Boomer"

I was born in 1952. In general, boomers are those born between the years of 1946 & 1964. That would mean that the tip of the iceberg is turning 65 in 2011.

Back to the "Who" as they ask the big question?

who are you? who, who, who, who?

Well, Dr.Kenneth Dychtwald, in a book entitled "The Age Wave," compared the Boomers to

WHY?

Because we have had a dramatic effect over ever segment of the economy and society in general, that we have touched, or come in contact with in any way, form, or fashion, and we will continue to do so.

I googled "Baby Boomers," and "Wikipedia states, that the Boomers control over 80% of personal financial assets and more than 50% of discretionary spending power, and yet Kim Farmer MSFT (Microsoft) claims

that less than 5% of advertising $$$'s are targeted toward 35-64 year olds, and that more than 50% of this affluent demographic is ignored.

How can that be?

In a recent "Florida Weekly" article they claimed that for the next 19 years roughly 10,000 Americans DAILY will reach the age of 65.

DAILY!

I live in Lee County where currently 23% of the population is 65 or older.

We need to change some of the terminology, and set some things straight. I don't feel old. I have no desire to retire. I work out 2-3 days a week. I am fairly well educated, dependable, responsible, and I plan to live forever. Well maybe to the BIG 100.

I know, you think that's nice Jay, but what's the point? Here's the point!

Don't ignore us in your marketing plan! That would be a big mistake.
