Making hay when the sun shines...

Since we're in southwest Florida, perhaps I should have said "when the snow flys!"

Anyway you look at it, supply and demand is one constant that holds true. If you are in the market for new construction homes in southwest Florida the supply is all but gone and everything purchased now is build to order...and building they are.

Two of the largest builders in the area - Pulte Homes (also the largest builder nationwide) and Stock Development (a large southwest Florida regional builder) - are both doing just fine.

The Plantation has posted 21 new homes sales in January 2011 and 11 new home sales in February through 2/12/2011.

Stock Development just had its grand opening for the newest and last neighborhood of single-family homes in Lely Resort - Lakoya.

With the low volume and high demand, yes, two price increases in the last 40 days at one location in the region.
